With a line up to rival any festival, Leeds Festival tickets really are the golden tickets to a festival weekend of fun.
2012 Line Up
Although the 2012 line up is yet to be confirmed, the 2012 line up was pretty darn good for all of those lucky enough to get their hands on Leeds Festival tickets, with Muse, My Chemical Romance, Pulp, The Strokes and Elbow being joined by Friendly Fires, Deftones, The View, Frank Turner and many more. There was once again plenty of talent on the NME/Radio 1 stage to tickle your interest, with the likes of 2manydjs, Beady Eye, White Lies, Warpaint, Noah and the Whale, The Vaccines, Bombay Bicycle Club, Cage the Elephant and Chapel Club all performing.
Tickets Available
Other acts who performed at the 2011 August Bank Holiday event included The Horrors, Pete Doherty, Tim Minchin, Mark Homas, Patrick Wolf, The Naked and Famous and Henry Rollins, so expect something similar in 2012 too. You can either buy weekend Leeds Festival tickets or day tickets so even if you just want to go for one particular day it's well worth it, especially when considering how many acts there are packed into one day.
A Full-On Festival
Leeds (and its partner Reading) is a fairly full-on festival and although children under 13 go free (they must be accompanied by adults who have bought Leeds Festival tickets) it's not marketed as a family event. There's no separate children's area and there's no specific family camping although there is an area on one of the sites which is quieter than the others.
Showers and All-Night Singalongs
It's fair to say that Leeds is one for the all-night gang and late night yowling from over excited young 'uns is to be expected rather than endured. In fact the city council allow the entertainment to go on until 6am. This includes campsite DJs (half-hour DJ sets from Joe Public), Piccadilly Party and a Silent Disco. Take your earplugs if you're hoping for some shut eye. And plenty of babywipes if you're a delicate sort of flower because although there are free showers, cleanliness is not something the festival is renowned for.
