Bar Risa is a fantastic bar and nightclub with regular musicians and DJs, a great choice for a night out with friends.

Just don't go...

During Freshers week a large group of us were enticed in by a guy stood outside offering us a bottle of champagne if we all came in. Why we did I don't know.

The first thing that struck me was how empty it was. This was freshers week in Leeds, everywhere is rammed. Bar Risa was empty. Now I know why the guy was so desperate to get us in. Anyway, after getting in and sharing the cheap champagne we danced for about 15 minutes before leaving. The music was horribly predictable chart tunes. The DJ was playing 'male vs female' games to try and get the small crowd excited. His idea? Let's give one male and one female a £1 coin each and see who made it back from McDonalds first with a cheeseburger...

What a horrible place. Whenever I walk past now I just see old drunks in there and middle aged businessmen drinking after work, most likely after being told Tiger Tiger next door was full.

Won't be long before it's closed. Shame because it's in a prime location and the venue itself is not too bad. Hopefully someone else can turn it into a cool bar or club.

I went out here with a few friends for my Birthday, it was a great night!
