This has been my 'local' for five years, & I don't recall it ever claiming to be a restaurant, or a style bar - Its a city pub/bar. The furniture, atmosphere & style is ecclectic and like it or not....it obvioulsy works as this place has seen competitors come & go - and continues to thrive - as for decor....its a brick vaulted warhouse which is a grade 2 listed building- they can harldy wallpaper the place! The sign reads "bar, lounge, kitchen" - so in that respect it does exactly what it says on the tin! As I've seen over the last few years, the million-pound bars with the 'beautiful people' customer base & the "gourmet" burger bars/chip shops, etc will continue to come & go in this part of Leeds - whereas this place will probably be here forever! - Good range of beers, good wine list, sky sports, sunny riverside terrace.....it's not trying to be something it's not - so, can't fault it really.
