I finally got to test drive this place last Saturday. It's hard to find a decent bar playing decent rock/metal music in a decent location in Leeds city centre but this place does a good job. Firstly I liked that it wasn't a huge trek from the train station and was amongst the 'buzz' of the call lane nightlife. Inside I just got a single rum and mixer which was over £4, pretty steep. Cocktails are about £6 and in the week they have a lot of 2-4-1 offers according to their FB updates, so if you want value for money get the cocktails. If you're like me (and most other metallers...) and don't do cocktails, or get annoyed that every new trendy bar has to be a cocktail one and charges the earth for a small bottle of beer instead *breathes* then you might be put off. But at least they sell the simpsons 'Duff' beer (small can at £3 a pop). The bar is pretty small inside though it is spread over two floors. We sat downstairs as there was room to sit down there. If this place is busy you'll find it hard to get a seat, but this is the kind of place I'd be happy to stand up in. The atmosphere was great, it felt like the kind of place you could chill but also where you could party if you wanted to. The decor is pretty sleek. It doesn't have that dingy/rough around the edge feel of most rock pubs, but the style is simple enough that it isn't 'too' stylish for it's theme. The skeleton in the floor downstairs looks very cool too. The music was good, I didn't notice much metal but from the short time we were there it was more my kind of thing. Overall it was a really cool place, cool atmosphere, drinks bit pricey but the atmosphere make up for it. Be better if they had a couple of beers on tap, the cocktails I can take or leave

A few friends of mine had been there on a Saturday night and suggested I try it so I went for a drink with a girlfriend on a Wednesday evening. We were the only customers in which was fine as it was about 1815 when we arrived so thought it might fill up a bit We went to the bar and my friend ordered her drink whilst I looked at what to buy. I decided on a single gin and lemonade and asked for no lime at the same time the member of staff started to squeeze the lime in. I got a dirty look whilst I was poured a new one and then was charged £3.60 for the pleasure. I'm no skinflint at all but thought that £3.60 for what seemed like a house gin was a bit overpriced. We took our seats and had out chat, in the 30 minutes or so we were there, nobody else came in so we were the only customers. The venue is actually really nice and we got to have a sneak peek at the skeleton that's set into the floor in the basement but it's a shame there was nobody there.I'd have been tempted to give it another go at the weekend but I didn't like the atmosphere, the drinks were overpriced and I I found the bar staff quite rude. Great venue though. Bad Apples = Bad Apples.
