Pop in to The Boar Lane pub For a Meal On the 03/08/2014 Food Grant Staff Friendly Too. Good value for the money As well I will go they a gen when i go to Leeds soon
Visited Yates with fiance and best friend for dinner this evening after seeing the two meals for £7.95 offer in the window. Inside the decor is looking very tired. It is clear that at one point it must have been a very trendy bar/pub but the wallpaper is tatty, there was tape on the corner seats due to the fabric being ripped, stains on the paintwork and holes in the plaster. The table and menu's were all sticky as if they hadn't been wiped in a good few days, which isn't really great. Even at a bargain basement pub grub sort of place you expect it to be atleast clean. I ordered a bbq chicken melt, my fiance ordered bangers and mash and my friend ordered turkey meatballs with spaghetti. The food was ok. The portion sizes were like kids meals. All food arrived on massive plates which made the food look even smaller. We were all still hungry after our main meals so ordered two deserts to share, as they were buy one get one free. The rocky road sunday was like the main meals, ok. The chocolate cake was not nice. Very dry and stale tasting, in the description it said the middle was filled with chocolate fudge sauce. There was none due to the cake being so dry it had absorbed it all in the microwave. Food took a while to get to our tables to say it was not terribly busy for tea time. I have been to many pubs that serve food, and this is by far the worst. Luckilly it was quite cheap, so we are not out of pocket for a lacking experience, however I don't believe our tiny portions were worth what we paid. All in all we wern't overly impressed and would not visit again.
Just back home to Belfast after spending the weekend in Leeds with my friends. We'd the best night ever on Saturday night and even won a bottle of champagne for dancing. The people were so friendly and welcoming and Leeds has some very handsome men!....highly recommended to all single women!
Been to Leeds for shopping day food at Yates was good value for money the staff were friendly all though more interested in talking to each other than serving waited half hour for main course had to ask for dessert to be served as we had to leave for the return coach soon to be told they did not have what we ordered then 20 minuets later still no dessert we had to leave at this point when I informed the staff it was a shrug of the shoulders , a disappointing end to the day
karaoke is a laugh, always a good atmosphere
