I went there for dinner tonight and it was lovely! I discovered this brasserie in a city guide earlier on today and the place is marvellous, by the canal! The waiter was very nice and the food was very good value for money: I had a three-course meal with two glasses of wine and paid £20. I would strongly recommend it.

Had a table booked for Saturday the 19th lunch, was really looking forward to eating here as a restaurant that has a reputation that precedes it. We arrived and were instantly taken to the bar area, handed menu's and wine list's. The smell off the food was wonderful, the restaurant was not busy but felt vibrant, thats where the enjoyment stopped.

20mins later still sat in the bar area, not even offered a drink. Eventually we were shown to a table and promptly left alone for another 20mins. Waitress arrived with bread after further 10 minutes later, we asked for the drinks we ordered half an previously, after yet another ten minutes we got our coats and left.

Such a pity, that a reputation could not be matched in anyway shape or form. After a journey of over 100miles. Shambolic.

I'm not from Leeds and stumbled upon it by chance, had a fab lunch there on a set Dine with Wine menu.

£11.35 for lunch and we had an upgrade to champagne with our lunch for only £2.50! I was told by the very friendly knowledgeable staff that it changes every 4 weeks and is also available every night £15.40 Dinner price!

So that means i can treat myself once a month. Loved every minute being there not too intrusive but caring staff, just right, will be back again to try the next menu!

I ate at the brasserie with family for a Birthday treat at lunch time on 14 March 2009 and we weren't at all impressed.

The service was dreadful. Several times I had to leave the table to find staff to ask for things (more drinks/bill etc.) yet the restaurant was very quiet and there were plenty of staff.

The starters and main courses were ok but nothing special but we ended up sending the desserts back.

one of our party had the fruit crumble which was basically a dish of runny fruit sauce with a very few large lumps of some hard substance on the top masquerading as crumble!

To add to the effect it had poured over the sides of the dish and looked very unattractive.

My dessert was chocolate pudding which was basically a very dry piece of chocolate cake with some chocolate sauce on the top.

To be fair, they knocked them off the bill but as we didnt actually eat them it was a token gesture.

I actually had to go to the bar to ask for our bill and the girl who I asked gave me a very irritated expression!

When the bill was brought to us the girl who brought it literally slapped it on the table as she walked past!

We were left feeling that our comments on the desserts hadnt been well received! One of our party was very shocked by the overt rudeness but as it was a birthday none of us felt inclined to make an issue of it and further spoil the occasion.

I can cook better myself and I dont appreciate such appaling service so I wont be going back and I am contemplating letting Mr Blanc know what a mediocre offering we got from his franchise in Leeds!
