Went here on a Thursday night at the end of November and I have to say the worse experience I've ever had in a Resturant including McDonalds.
We were seated, a drinks order taken and then for over 20 minutes no-one came back to take our order even though the waitress and waiter (Both with atitude problems) would walk straight past with note pad in hand to clean up another table was near impossible to make eye contact.
I noticed two other tables seated after us, had thier orders taken and they hade groupon vouchers (We didn't) Thus they would have made more money out of us!
Avoid at all costs!
I visited Da Mario's today and it was like going back to the 70s. The decor was dated, the waiter impatient and the food mediocre at best. I ordered a pasta dish and its size looked more like a starter than a main course- I felt ripped off! I asked for the special but was told the menu was from the previous evening!?! The waiter suggested an alternative but when I finally got the food it was a combination of the waiter's recommendation and the previous nights dish- and I wasn't told this before it arrived, the chef 'decided' to do it for me. I was also annoyed that when the bill came they had already added on the gratuity- which I thought was cheeky. I certainly wouldn't have left a tip considering the poor customer service. I won't be going there again!
Firstly the waiter was pushy, and when we ordered he said "is that all?" which was uncomfortable to the point where i ordered a side dish just to ease the awkwardness, the quality of food was poor for the price and the compulsory service charge added to the bill was a bit of a liberty considering the service offered. Overall, i wouldn't go back there.
When we came into the restaurant we were seated and the waiter came to ask us if we were ready to order straight away. We told the waiter that we'd like to wait a bit, and to my surprise, this wasn't appreciated which clearly showed in the waiter's body language. The waiter asked us three more times if we were ready to order and his mood got progressively worse when we told him we weren't ready and we'd let him know. The entire situation felt rushed, uncomfortable - and the food was mediocre. If you're looking for a quick bite, then go there, but if you're looking for atmosphere and a nice experience, I would not recommend it.
The pizza was quite average, only got one tiny meatball on a large pizza, ordered a coffee liquor which was brought in a very tiny wine glass, would expect it to be bigger for the price, the glass of Pepsi was only in a small glass too. Overall not good value for money.
Worst place ever. Do not go there. Rude waiters and horrible food. Spend A little more and go to Another place.
I used to dine at Da Mario a number of years ago when
it was "old fashioned" and the food and service were of a
high standard. It was a real pleasure and I always left the
restaurant in a good mood.
I have been two or three times in the past year but
have been disappointed not so much with the food but
the quality of service.
The restaurant manager seems reluctant to use eye
contact and generally does not have a relaxed enough
attitude with customers.
I do not wish to be over critical but good communication
skills are vital in this profession.
I hope he is able to improve his manner.
Yours sincerely

Excellent food, the calamari starter was superb and it must have been the first time in years i seen a real fresh side salad. Pizza was superb too, it was also a great size. I left here stuffed!
One of the best little eateries in Town!We eat at Da Mario's regularly, always are we welcomed warmly.
The staff are friendly, helpful, pleasant and always good to chat with.
The food is excellent and very reasonably priced mid-week. A meal for two of starter, pizza and dessert with a bottle of Pinot will usually come to around £40.
The food is always well presented and of excellent quality. Can't recommend this place enough.
