With a central Headingley location, a cool, edgy appearance and a trendy client base, The Arc could be one of the trendiest night spots in Leeds.

The Venue
Situated behind a pleasant lawn area on Ash Road, Headingley, The Arc provides a contemporary counterbalance to its serene foreground. With imposing glass walls to the front and a trendy interior it would be easy to believe it has been superimposed onto its surroundings as its appearance would be right at home in any bustling city centre.

Downstairs there's a chic restaurant area and a comfortable yet trendy bar and seating areas. Upstairs there's a stylish cocktail bar accompanied with further comfortable seating in the shape of circular high backed booths and chunky light wood high tables and stools.

The upstairs also boasts a long balcony providing a sun-soaked summertime drinking spot and a comfortable sheltered smoking area.

The People
There’s a rather relaxed and chilled atmosphere in this bar. The staff are approachable and customer focused and the customers consist mainly of the local student population of Headingley which give it a youthful and lively vibe.

The Food
The restaurant menu combines a good range of grilled foods such as salmon and steaks, Italian pasta dishes and good honest burgers. A recommended dish is the tender and melt in the mouth oriental salmon (£9.95) which owes its exotic title to its sweet oriental dressing. If a burger is more your meal of choice when eating out in bars the Arc offers a variety of these meaty marvels (and vegetarian options). And if you are partial to larger portions opt for the Guv’ner. Weighing in at 12oz this double stacked cheese covered burger served with BBQ sauce and onion rings is a real belt buster and well worth its slightly weightier price of £9.50.

The Drink
The upstairs cocktail bar provides more choice for customers than the downstairs bottle and draught bar and if cocktails were to be your tipple of choice Sunday to Thursday they are two for £6. If midweek drinking takes your fancy this would make for a delicious night out.

The Last Word
The Arc is a little off the beaten drinking track however for a fabulous evening with friends, in Headingley, this is the place to be bar none.
