Friendly staff and a great place to go BUT not with children. They might state that they are child friendly but they really aren't. I went in with my baby daughter and they actually turned up the volume of the music so that people were on the brink of shouting at one another (my baby wasn't crying so there was no reason to turn up the volume). I did ask if they could turn it down but I think they only did so by a notch. I would go to meet friends but will never go there to meet with friends over lunch with my child.

I have been to Lazy on many occasions, both with friends and in groups. 14 of us went a few weeks ago and had a wonderful meal of the tapas selection - everyone loved the food and left completely full!!! The wine choice is also fantastic with many wonderful wines at a reasonable price. The ambiance is what makes lazy-lounge so unique and different. Its such a laid back atmosphere and makes for the perfect night out! I am going back next week and can't wait - with the same group of people who went and loved it before! Enjoy!

Lazy lounge is a great place to go for a drink - different to the "usual" city centre bars - the staff are very polite and have extensive knowledge of the fabulous wines on offer and they bring your drinks direct to the table ! There is a great atmosphere whatever time of day you visit and they do some cracking meals to boot ! Definitely one to visit again and again !

I absolutely love Lazy Lounge. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. They remember what you drink and take an interest in you - which I have not found in any other City Centre bar. They also do a great coffee with a really tasty nibble on the side. The food is lovely and tasty, but the best thing to eat in my opinion is the chocolate brownie - delicious! Have eaten here for a snack and for an evening meal celebrating with friends and never been disappointed with the food - or the service. The regular wine tasting is great and Peter makes the evenings interesting with stories of his own experiences of particular vine yards. I think the wine tasting is definitely great value for money. The decor is lovely and the bar as a whole is warm and inviting. Even the toilet paper is soft! I've never felt rushed out, even when we are the last people there and the evening is drawing in. We will be arranging to have a celebratory party there in the near future and I have no worries that everything wont be a massive success. Lazy Lounge is a great bar to relax in as a couple, or to meet a group of friends for the entire evening. All your needs are met here and there is no reason to venture away from this great bar. My favourite bar in Leeds. Nothing I could complain about at Lazy Lounge and I love to complain and moan about things!

I love this place! If you're looking for a relaxing place to have a bite to eat or just a drink then Lazy Lounge is perfect. It's just so much more classy than a lot of other bars in Leeds and the staff have always gone out of their way to make our visits even more enjoyable.
As soon as you walk in the door you can see how inviting the bar is with plenty of comfy seating downstairs and more tables on the upper level. There's a great atmosphere and the decor is much more upmarket than other bars.
The range of wines on the menu is outstanding and if you're not sure what to try the staff are always on hand with their vast knowledge to help you choose. It's a great place to try something a bit different. The food is really good and all home made on the premises -you can tell they go that extra mile to make sure the produce they use is top quality. They've got the balance just right - you can just pop in for a quick snack on your lunch hour (I love the fish goujon sandwich!) or have a more leisurely meal. It's extremely well priced too which makes it even better!
I've visited in small and large parties and have received excellent, efficient service on all occassions. It really is the place to go in Leeds - don't miss out!

I feel I have to write this review in response to the reputation bashing received a review from "professional" on 21/9/10.

We have used Lazy Lounge on many occasions for work events, client nights, office drinks parties and personal events since it's creation in 2008.

I was recommended Lazy Lounge as a great venue to host client events by quite a few of my colleagues and associates within Leeds, and I must say I have never been disappointed, proven by the fact we have booked another 2 events before Christmas, and our departmental office drinks party for the 3rd yr running.
We have always found them to be most welcoming, helpful, professional and the service we receive at our events is always of the highest standard, and more importantly genuine and delivered with a smile.

I highly recommend Lazy Lounge as a place to entertain clients, enjoy drinks after work and to dine, and I continue to do so on a weekly basis.

Use this place for a party or function at your own peril! I arranged for our Christmas party to be held at the venue and agreed to a significant minimum spent to secure the venue. After several months they came back and said that they has changed their mind and would only be able to offer the mezzanine area. Alas we have been lucky and been able to secure The Roast on the same date (a superior venue, great food and friendly staff).

I have since found people who have encountered similar problems with Lazy Lounge trying to change the booking late on, changing the agreed price and trying to close up earlier than the agreed time.

You have been warned!

Popped into this place by accident on a Friday lunchtime, at 1pm.

fantastic looking bar, full of wonderful wine and beers, but the food and service was horrid.

We ordered two cod and pancetta fishcakes and had to wait for 45 mins, which I was amazed at as they were basically deep fried potato and fish patties.

When you cut them open the fat just seeped out of them. They were really really horrid, and the salad was gritty, as if it hadn't been washed.

Again fantastic looking bar and selection of alcohol, but don't go and order the fishcakes, they were really up there with the worst food I've ever eaten.

Happened across this hidden gem as I took my better half out for a lovely meal a few weeks ago at the very good Italian, Primo. Claudio the GM recommended having a drink next door in Lazy Lounge and that is how we happened to be in there.

My knowledge of wine was never great, grapes, sugar, France, New Zealand and that was about it in total. So I was a tad nervous when my girlfirend said I should choose a bottle of wine for us. Luckily, and not at a moment too late, the very polite and friendly waitress appeared to offer my some recommendations, and save my embarrassment. We went for a Spanish Rioja, at £19.50, which I must say was really good. Never been one for spanish wine but I stand here today converted!

The whole place just offers such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, from the sofas asking you to fall asleep in them, to the friendly and very well informed staff always there to help you through the impressive wine list, about 100 wines & champagnes of which about 40 are offered by the glass, along with an impressive spirit offering from my glance over the drinks menu!

All in all I must say I have found another haunt for myself at lucnhtimes from work and a definite place to have those after work dirnks and win Brownie points with my girlfriend when I take her out for a meal and drinks.A must see visit in my opinion, especially for the wine lvers, or want to be wine lovers of this city of ours.
