Just been here today for a mid lunch meal. I really dont know what the previous reviews about Iceland and boil in the bag were talking about. Walked into the bar area after noting the car park was very busy. So was expecting a long wait for a table. Ended up waiting for 5 minutes to get sat down. Was really please with that. Ordered the food and had a 20 minute wait, which I was more than happy with, especially seeing as the pub was heaving. Food top notch, although the poached egg on the Mushroom Risotto was overkill. Fantastic deserts and good beer. Service was nice and friendly at all times.
Will come here again. Only wish I lived closer so can have a nice meal and a few pints.
I have been going to the scotts arms for many years now and can confident-ally say that i have always been satisfied with the food i have had. As for the service I found them very welcoming and friendly not to mention attentive. The food at the scotts arms is reasonably priced and as I say you get what you pay for.
Please don't listen to the other reviews go try it yourself it is a fantastic pub in an amazing location.
Do not eat here, owners went to Iceland.? After what appeared to be a promising menu, in beautiful surroundings, what a huge disappointment. The food took ages to come, which would have been fine if it wasn't all frozen, pre packed rubbish at over inflated prices. Staff couldn't care less, a complete rip off. You would expect to eat like this at Morrisons Cafe, which is fine because you would pay a fraction for it there and you know what to expect, this is blatantly over priced, over cooked, over promising and under delivering at the expense of the unsuspecting customer. Shame on you!
Dined here Saturday night for about the fourth time in the last year. It's a lovely pub. Really nice friendly service: food has been great each time: well-prepared, good portions. There is a great choice of interesting veggie meals as well as fish for the non-meat eaters. Only managed the desserts once - this ain't nouvelle cuisine!
have been twice before both times waited very long time for food. cosy pub although food very dissapointing,and not too cheap ! food arrived cold, my roast lamb had a piece of string in it, when complained very rude attitude by staff.
Will not be going again, be warned !!
