Westwood Durex Event in Leeds

Posted by: kimsanders  27/01/2009 @ 17:50

He may seem like an unlikely champion of safe sex but rap legend Tim Westwood is highlighting the importance of wearing condoms on his return to Leeds this month. The Westwood Durex Event in Leeds on Friday, 27th February is part of the subtly titled 'Strap it Up Before You Slap it Up' campaign, which will see the Radio One DJ travelling around the country spreading the safer sex message. That sounds like a wise idea because we all know us Brits seem to get friskier than most after a day of lounging in the sun. Back here in the UK I think the Westwood Durex Event in Leeds will be less glamorous and sultry. The DJ, who also presents Pimp My Ride on MTV, will turn up at …

Leeds Met Monopoly Challenge

Posted by: kimsanders  02/01/2009 @ 16:04
Subject: General

Spent Christmas and new year huddled over a board game, retaining a vice-like grip on the rules and a hawk-eye on the family cheat? Well, that sort of commitment and skill could come in handy for the Leeds Met Monopoly Challenge which is being hosted throughout February and Easter.

In case you didn't get one for Christmas, a Leeds version of the popular board game has been released (finally) and in aid of that, and for charity, the Leeds Met Monopoly Challenge has been launched. It aims to get 8,000 Loiners playing Monopoly. It's hoped the quirky challenge will raise £250,000 for the community.

Met students, bless 'em, are taking time out of their study (and the Otley Run) to get as many people signed up to the Leeds Met Monopoly Challenge …

Valentines Day at Leeds Bars

Posted by: kimsanders  12/01/2009 @ 17:33
Subject: Pubs & Bars

Girls and boys it's nearly Valentines Day! If you're single this can be an exciting time. Will that guy you've been gawping at in the office send you a card? Will you receive a card from someone other than a friend/family member who knew you weren't going to get any cards and didn't want you to feel like a sadcase? Will you meet the man of your dreams? All of these things are possible. However, if you're in a relationship, February 14 can be like judgement day. You have to choose what you do very carefully and sorry boys, this really is up to you.

If the credit crunch (are you bored of that phrase yet? I am) has left you so strapped for cash that a dinner date is out of the question, you can always spend Valentines Day at …

Valentines Day at Leeds restaurants

Posted by: kimsanders  13/01/2009 @ 14:18
Subject: Restaurants

As I am single I'll probably spend this Valentines Day wondering which of my failed relationships might have worked out and where it went wrong. Well, I can tell you this for nothing fellas, not doing anything for Valentines Day features pretty highly. I've heard a variety of colourful excuses to explain the lack of Valentine celebrations. One said it was against his religion (he was Jewish), another said it was too commercial, another said he didn't need a day to prove how he felt (turns out that was true, he didn't feel anything) and the rest, well I've tried to forget about them. If any of this is ringing any bells with you, or you find this amusing, read on Romeos, read on.

I imagine there are lots of girls who are more nervous about Valentines …
