Visited this pub numerous times, but since the new management have taken over this pub has gone drastically down hill. The 'chef' if you can call him or her that doesn't even know how to cook what is on their menu. The menu is far more limited. The waitressing staff haven't got a clue, and under the new management I have had two meal orders taken and arrived incorrectly. When I mentioned the mistakes to a staff member, she reported it to the manager who just shrugged and said that what I ordered?! If this is how the management run a pub how can they expect their staff to be any different. By the way if the chef wants any tips on how to cook hollandaise I can advise him! And if the management want any tips - I would suggest the word customer service! The problem is they have a captive audience, perhaps if more people choose not to go, then they might pick their act up!
What a shame, this pub used to be fantastic!
went for a late Sunday lunch at was told at the bar to take a seat in the restaurant and someone would look after us.
After sitting at a table for nearly 10 mins, not one member of staff acknowledged us or brought at least a menu.
My husband got up and picked some up from near the kitchen door. We then sat for another 5 mins without any approach from staff so left.
I must say the service was diabolical and we will not be returning. Neither will the large circle of friends and family we have told about the diabolical service.
We took our business elsewhere and I would recommend anyone else to do the same!
Went with my Family for Sunday Lunch. 3 kids and Husband, never again, has a kids menu, but kids not welcome. As a full time working mum, it is nice to get out and have lunch on the odd Sunday, so where better to go than your local friendly pub/restaurant. Not the case in this place, my kids can be like all kids, but on this occasion they were forewarned and they were good, new land lord does not want family's with kids, shame used to be good.
I went here with some old friends and had a fantastic evening.
