I visited the Bierkeller for the first time last weekend and had a brilliant time! A great mix of really friendly people who were all up for joining in and having a laugh! And it's not just beer- they had plenty of wines and different drinks to suit those of us who don't really like beer! We booked a table in advance, which I would definitely recommend doing because it got really busy down there and lots of people were standing. We had a waitress who came to our table and looked after us all night, the girls have German barmaid costumes on and got really into it too. They had a German band on which is when the place really came alive! I had never seen one before but they were great fun and everyone was on their feet! I would definitely come back and watch them again.
Good points:
Great night out for groups / occasions and to experience something different. Great atmosphere and lots of fun. Very entertaining, especially with the Bovarian Stompers!
Bad points:
Not sure if the £15 deal of waitress service, table, Stein, shot and Pretzel was worth the money. We had a party of 14 and there werent enough Pretzels or shots to go round, and the waitress wasnt really at our table much. Above all, watch your Stein at all times - a deposit per stein has to be paid at the start of the night, which you supposedly get back if you return your Stein, however 2 members of our party had their steins taken away by the waitress so the manager refused to give us our deposit back even though we explained what had happened. We came away feeling a bit disgruntled! Shame as it would have been a top night otherwise!
Fantastic place to go for a quick bite of for a whole night or drinking, singing and dancing, I first visited this establishment in December just after it opened and have bought numerous friends to visit since! Keep up the good work!!
Went here on sat night after a meal and just saw the sign and me and the missus thought lets try it. We went down the stairs and were greeted by Delilah playing at full whack and people standing on all the benches singing along and dancing slamming their steins together, we weren't far behind in following suit. Only intended on staying for one drink but spent the whole night in there drinking from 2 pint steins until kick out time. Brilliant night and cant wait for next time we go.
