As far as I am concerned, The Brudenell remains the unbeaten champion of Leeds' pubs.

If you have even the remotest interest in the Leeds music scene or in live music generally, then there's no doubt that the Brudenell will impress. The quality and variety of acts is like no other venue. There's a reason some of the best alternative artists in the world keep coming back to play and often talk fondly about the first time they played at the Brude.

Not to mention the cheaper-than-anywhere else pool and snooker, add to that the table football and darts and you've got the classic Brudenell Games Room Olympics.

The bar has always been superb with prices, the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a pub and there's a nice open smoking area out front.

The staff are friendly and efficient. The patrons are a wonderful mix of students, culture vultures and locals. I've never met anyone who didn't feel entirely welcome at the Brude.

And I have to add; even if all of this weren't true, even if it was a terrible pub, the fact that it's home to the greatest King Charles spaniel in the world is enough to put it on my top spot.

The Brudenell is, simply put, the best live music venue in Leeds. Musicians from around the world sing its praises and it has played host to a wide range of groups from all genres over the years, both well-known and emerging acts. Add to that the excellent atmosphere, ridiculously cheap but high quality booze, great games room and decent outside space and you cannot go wrong. The previous reviewer is entirely mistaken about the Bru and I recommend a repeat visit ASAP to have those misconceptions dispelled!
