If you were unlucky to miss out on The Specials tickets when the band announced their tour dates, there's a second chance. The Coventry-based ska outfit are performing a one-off outdoor headline show especially for Yorkshire. And given their popularity, and the length of time they've been away, The Specials tickets Leeds are some of the hottest to go on sale this year.

Ghost Town
Since their decision to split in 1981, fans of The Specials have been eagerly fuelling the rumour-mill with whispers about the band reforming. This is partly in the hope it might come true, and partly due to disbelief that such a talented group could call it a day so early in their career. Hype over their upcoming tour that's taking place in April and May has been huge and news about The Specials Tickets Leeds going on sale has been greeted with similar euphoria. More than 7,000 fans are expected to fill Millennium Square in one is one of their largest anniversary shows.

Skarred Generation
Their career may have been short but their mark on the British music scene was deep. Tracks like Ghost Town, Too Much Too Young and Message To You Rudy captured the mood of a generation. Ghost Town in particular is marked for its reflection of the anger and fear which Maggie Thatcher brought to the streets of Britain. What with riots, recession and racial unease, Britain had indeed become a ghost town of sorts. Whilst their lyrics captured the mood, it was their melding of punk and ska which went on to influence bands across the world. They had in fact created their own sound - Two Tone, the name taken from their own record label. Let's face it, when you buy The Specials Tickets Leeds you're not just going to have a storming night, you're going to be hearing a huge amount of history too.

Tour And Reform
It's somewhat surprising that The Specials have agreed to tour again. Band members often refer to the chaos that surrounded the band in their last few months together. However, their appeal remains strong and 12 other dates announced by the band have already sold out. Unfortunately the reunion is not complete and the band's main songwriter Jerry Dammers won't be joining them for their tour, the Leeds gig or their UK festival appearance at Scotland's T In The Park. However, the fact that The Specials tickets Leeds have sold so well in spite of this is testament to their enduring appeal.

Millennium Square
Other bands to have performed in this amazing space include Kaiser Chiefs, The Pigeon Detectives and Snow Patrol. With a capacity of 7,000 the venue is huge and the performance by The Specials will have more of a festival feel than an intimate gig. So dust off your pork-pie hat, dig out braces, buy The Specials tickets Leeds and get ready to hop about to the very British sound of The Specials' Two Tone ska.
