we were met and led to our table straight away the menu showed a over 50 special offer if we joined we could have a starter or pudding for just £1 so me and my husband went for it I dont usually have a starter we asked for all meals to come out together as we had our 2 yr old grandaughter with us and she was very hungry 40 mins later the starters arrived a prawn salad and a soup of the day no child meal I asked for child meal as she was now very restless and making us and other diners uncomfatable 2 mins I was told then out came my husband and 1 of my sons adult meals still no child meal my eldest son took his daughter and began to put together a carvery meal meat looked good but the veg was disgusting dried up and cold I thought it was cauliuflower it was that over cooked it turned out to be broccilli I waited till my baby grandaughters meal arrived over 1 hr 10 mins by which time she was well past wanting food then I went for my own carvery the meat was ok but the potatoes where only burnt scraps and the green veg was a dried up mess I complained there and then and new potatoes where brought out but the old scraps where emptied on top I asked should they be doing this as I beleive all food in a restaruant as a food life of only a few hours and was told it was okay I did not touch the greens because they looked bad On eating my meal the carrott and swede was cold the potatoes tasted burnt and to tell the truth I just wish i had stayed at home .My elder son complained and did not pay for his or his daughters meals however I was charged full prce for my £1 starter I am dissappointed as i heard no apoligy and was told the reason for my bad meal was because one of the chefs phoned in sick the only good thing i can say is the waiter who did say he was sorry and i did give him atip for his good service but the lady manager needs to learn a little about customer service as for my diamond card lets hope they take the comments to heart and learn by their mistakes

The carvery is lovely and the staff are really nice & chatty.
