AVOID AVOID There's only two things worse than the food at this place, thats the toilets and the staff. Food was poor, bland and it took ages to arrive, toilets stink and the waiting staff are rude and slow. AVOID this place its terrible!!
The worst food and service I have ever experienced in my life....I had made a reservation but on arrival it was questioned. We were just left standing whilst they sorted it out, no offer of drinks or menus...After 15 minutes I enquired how long it would be,they then took us to the table. Poppadums and the smallest pickle tray in the world were brought...We had to go to the bar for our own drinks, and after 20 minutes of waiting we asked for menus, 20 minutes later we asked if they could take our order.. When the starters arrived they were cold and had to be changed.. An hour later the main course arrived ,it was the worst Indian food I have ever seen..
My friend said the Korma was disgusting, so she asked if she could change it...The waiter took it away and the manager brought another one 10 minutes later...We then explained that she didn't like it ,and that she'd asked for an alternative dish not another of the same...He asked what we suggested, and I said the waiter should have brought her the menu for her to choose something else.. The managers answer to this ,was no one has ever complained about it in 24 years.. My Baltic was just lamb cooked in a paste, no sign of an onion, tomatoes chillies etc....Despite offering constructive criticism to the manager he didn't think there was anything wrong...So please don't waste your time and money, avoid at all costs...
Just been to Shababs where I visited a few years ago and enjoyed the best Indian meal ever and tonight was looking forward to a lovely meal but was so disappointed the service from the start was very poor! They had no record of our booking and when we got to the table it took then another half hour to give us the menus and another 20min to take our order and to me the restaurant wasn't ver busy. Got the starter to find some of it was cold so we sent it back. Another half hour later after we finished our starter we received the main course to find mine was rather dry like it had been sitting there for hours and othes had little or no vegetable in the curries. One of the curries which was a prawn Curry had to be handed back because flavour was inedible she asked for something else similar and was brought the same curry, again she could not eat this so again it was sent back and she did without a meal at this stage. We complained but did get any satisfaction from the manager what a shoddy customer service. It was just one thing after another so needles to say we did not leave a tip. I don't think I'll be going back there in a hurry when there are so many curry restaurants in Leeds to choose from of a much better standard. So disappointed :((
I love theis place and don't go often enough. Bit of a haul up th stairs but well worth it. The decor is nice, warm and welcoming with attentive and helpful staff.
Last time I couldn't make my mind up what to have and they suggested a Thali with bits of alsorts on and it was fantastic. Not cheap but reasonably priced and quick service if you need it but equally laid back if you want a leisurely meal.
Can highly recommend this place for the novice and advanced curry eater!
Try the murgh mirch, it was lovely & the staff were really nice & helpful.
