Visited the Plough on 25th march with my mum for a belated mothers day lunch on the recommendation of a friend.
Couldn't fault the food, staff or the welcome. Excellent home made food served with a smile. Great idea to have smaller portions a little cheaper for those people who are not starving hungry. Will definitely eat there again when next in Yorkshire, wish this pub was in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Good value for money. Didn't need to eat on Monday. Janette
A wonderful village pub, GREAT NO NONSENSE FOOD, and GREAT BEER a change from the same old local brews and a well stocked bar plus a very welcoming landlady....we eat there regularly, well worth a visit hope it keeps thriving as the day is near approaching when it will be a novelty to go out to a pub 10/10 well done the Plough Inn, keep it going!!!!
Lovely friendly pub. Have eaten here a number of times and enjoyed the food every time. Great menu and well cooked food. Would recommend it.
Gave it another go after my aunt said she wanted to go on Sunday because she used to live close to the village.
It's a pain to park here especially if you have someone a bit aged with you.
It's not dreadful just uninspiring.
Took ages to arrive though they were rather busy but was lukewarm when it did. Didn't bother to send it back as it would have taken ages I suppose.
The beer was ok and there was a reasonable selection.
It's not cheap though. Stricly average for the total cost. 3 people was close to 50 quid
Nice country pub, not very busy though.
Typical country Inn turned food venue....shame I bet it was a good pub at one time.
Very Limited menu, standard fayre, lasagne, fish and chips sandwiches and chips etc....fairly bland and unispiring.
Unfriendly bar staff very unwelcoming.
I didn't know that attitude still remained in the industry. With pubs closing down every 2 minutes you'd think an owner tennant or whatever would accept a bit of criticism and at least not fall out with customers.
It promised a friendly welcome so quite a surprise.
The area has many good pubs doing food and several good restaurants that are far better priced so we have lots of choice in the area.
Also a small number of noisy locals standing at the bar were quite loud and boistrous if rather amusing.
Given the local choice i'd choose another venue.
This was a family party,Mums Birthday, which as there was 10 of us we reserved a table in advance for Sunday lunchtime.
We were shown to our table,by a very polite and friendly staff member.
The choice of food went quiet a way beyond the average pub offerings and also had a choice of Sunday roast along with around 5 specials on the blackboard.
The food portions were generous, reasonably priced and absolutely gorgeous, the staff were extremely helpful too, without being fussy.
Mum had been here previously and asked if she could have a dessert course that was no longer on the set menu,as it was her birthday they had this sorted out for her in a matter of minutes.
The pub itself is welcoming and quite old fashioned and serves a very good pint of Thwaites.
I would definately dine here again.
Plough Inn is a nice friendly pun with a great beer garden. We reguarly haint here as the food is cheap and pretty good too.
