£70 for a two course meal for 3 is double the price of good pub food. Bad points: Veg were raw, sent back and they returned after 3 mins in microwave, dishes were conceived and cooked in blissful ignorance, for example Sole rolled with (too much) smoked Salmon destroyed it and Brandy snap was actually Amaretti biscuit. Food was all bland with almost no exceptions at all. Some dishes were a bit cold. This restaurant is full of "atmosphere" however, or noise as I prefer to call it, couldn't have a conversation properly. Very, very disappointing after reading many good reviews.

As far as York area is concerned this restaurant is up there with the best - it's consistently of a very high quality and has been whenever I visit - I have entertained family, friends and business clients / colleagues here and never been let down.The belly pork is sublime, the sea bass succulent and the sticky toffee pudding ---- bloody brilliant.Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and always leave feeling satisfied and well locked after.As a regular visitor I will be back - well worth the 20 mile drive and they don't rip you off for the wine either!!!

Singers is a popualar restaurant within my family as we love to eat here when we get a chnace. The food is devine and the surroundings is modern. Perfect for my family meals.
